OPTOPOL TECHNOLOGY

Adam Bogdani established company OPTOPOL in 1992. Initially, it was mainly a distribution company, importing optical machinery and ophthalmic diagnostic devices and distributing them in the domestic market to optical workshops and ophthalmic practices. In 1999, Adam Bogdani added a production activity to the company, at first manufacturing electric tables and refraction units, in order to present a comprehensive offer to company’s clients. Gradually, the scope of production was being expanded, and the first diagnostic device was manufactured – an automatic perimeter for visual field analysis. This area was continuously being developed, by adding next generation of perimeters, chart projectors, corneal topographers, and applanation tonometers. Yet, the biggest success was to come in 2006, when Adam Bogdani lead to co-operation with Nicolas Copernicus University from Torun, the result of which being the first commercially available spectral domain OCT in the world. This product line has been developed ever since, and brought the company among the top players in the OCT market. Currently, Optopol focuses on further development of OCT devices and automated static and kinetic perimeters.
